Oblytech Delivery

Governance your stakeholders can read

Governance has a reputation for paperwork. Done well, it is the opposite: a few short routines that keep a project honest and keep everyone informed. We keep ours deliberately light.

The weekly report

Every project we run produces a weekly report. It states what was completed, what is planned, what is at risk and what we need from you. It is short enough to read in a few minutes and specific enough to act on. If the news is bad, it says so in the first paragraph.

Risk and decision logs

A running list of risks records what could go wrong, who owns it and what is being done. A decision log records what was decided, when and by whom. Both are small, and both save a great deal of argument later. On ServiceNow projects the decision log is especially useful, because it records why a process was configured a particular way.

Escalation

We agree at the start how issues are escalated: who is contacted first, who is contacted if that fails and how long each step may take. A written path means a disagreement cannot quietly stall a project.

Governance for AI work

AI projects need a few extra routines. We record the intended use of each AI feature, the data it relies on and what a human must review. We keep a sample of real outputs for review and revisit the assumptions at agreed points. This keeps accountability with people, where it belongs.

Governance for ServiceNow work

On ServiceNow projects we add a few routines of our own: a list of ServiceNow processes affected by the project and who owns each, a record of every ServiceNow customization and why it was needed, and a checklist before each ServiceNow release covering testing, approvals and rollback. These are short, and they make ServiceNow upgrades and support much easier later.

Governance for Salesforce work

For Salesforce projects we use the same weekly report and logs, with particular attention to data migration checks, because data problems are the most common cause of surprise in CRM work.
